Level 1: Create & Fit a Personal Darted Sloper
Learn how to fit Palmer/Pletsch’s basic darted sloper and use it as a foundation to create a variety of garment styles.
You will learn to:
- Take accurate body measurements
- Fit and alter Butterick B6849
- Create and fit a muslin
- Use your sloper to develop other clothing styles
Class benefits:
- Identifies the key alterations needed for your unique body shape
- Creates a personal “body map” you can use to design countless styles
- Introduces the Palmer/Pletsch fitting method, one of the most respected fitting systems in the world
- Provides personalized feedback and guidance from your instructor

Twelve hours of instruction may be scheduled as two 6-hour sessions or broken into 2-hour class increments.

Learn how to fit Palmer/Pletsch’s princess seam dress, Butterick B6850. Other princess seam patterns may be used with instructor approval.
You will learn to:
- Take accurate body measurements
- Fit and alter challenging princess seams
- Create and fit a muslin
- Use your block to create or modify other clothing styles
